What is the best bullet for moose hunting? I will be using a 30-06 for hunting moose this season and I need to get it sighted-in in preparation for the season.

Also I want to know what is the best bullet weight to use for moose hunting?

Thank you for your question.

Our Recommendation

The short answer is either Barnes Triple Shock X (TTSX) or Nosler Partion in a 180 grain weight for a 30-06 caliber moose hunting rifle.

I highly recommend you use Federal Premium ammunition as your cartridge of choice. Field proven by many hunters world wide, Federal Ammo will not let you down.

Another good bullet of choice is the Nosler AccuBond if the Nosler Partion is not available.

You will find more information to answer your question on our moose hunting ammunition page.
