Compare 7X57 vs 7WSM vs 7mm Remington Mag

The performance of a 7mm WSM vs a 7mm Remington Magnum is virtually the same. Ballistics are basically the same when compared to a ballistics table.

I have shot moose with both calibers and was happy with the results.

I have recently switched to a .270 WSM and dropped an elk with one shot at 150 yards in 2012.

Thanks for your input Joseph.

I've included a picture showing 3 different calibers.
7X57 - 7WSM - 7mm Rem Mag
It becomes readily visible that the Remington Magnum (right) is going to hold the most powder.
The end results will be the Remington is going to be faster, but not by much over the 7WSM.
Even the 7X57 will get the job done.

Relatively speaking, any of the cartridges will take down moose sized game. It's just up to the shooter as to how much recoil she can handle. Of course one must take into account the cost and availability of ammunition for these calibers.
