Use wolves to your advantage when hunting moose?

May be a question "outside the box", but I had to ask it.
Wolves are very smart, communicate vocally too. Most of us have heard them howl.
One time I heard them howl in the middle of the day. I went over in that direction and shot a moose that was being stalked by wolves.
Was it just luck? Saw the moose the wolves stalking the moose walked within 9 yards and my arrow killed the moose, wolves fled.
Have any of you ever had experiences like me?
I feel most of us when we hear wolves howl in mid day turn tail and find some other place to hunt.
Maybe the wolves by howling mid day are telling their pack come help and should we be heading their direction to get in on the action?
This raises tons of questions why and when do wolves howl.
Would love some answers to this question too.
