Is Mare in heat legal to use in Ontario?

I am aware that a new law went into effect last year that does not allow using any parts from the deer family as an aid to hunt because of CWD, this includes urine.
I have purchased "Mare in Heat" from buck experts in the past but I haven't for this years hunt because I want to be legal.
I always had the understanding that the Mare in heat was from a horse but some advertising says it from a cow moose. Do you know if it is a horse or moose that it's collect from and if it's a horse is it legal to use?
Mike, Thanks for the question.
I believe you would be safe in using the Mare's urine as long as it was indeed collected from a horse. You would need to ask the distributor directly to be sure you are not using moose urine if it has been banned.
I think the best thing would be to check with your local game department to find out if moose urine is indeed approved. I had someone post last week to say they thought mares urine would be legal to use in Ontario.
