Wolf Numbers on the Increase

On the subject of Wolves: I have lived in and around Thunder Bay for many years, but I have never seen a wolf in the wild until recently. We moved away 3 years ago, and then came back. In the 6 months since we returned I have seen (brace yourself)
7 wolves !! Most of those were seen in farming areas outside the city. Two were cubs.

One incident shook me up a little, I went to the end of a dirt road, inhabited almost to the end. I took off up an 800m long trail to hide by a beaver pond I know, and wait for a deer with my bow. I heard a rustling in the bush to my right (upwind), and there was a wolf about 15 meters away. We spotted each other at exactly the same time. He must have seen me move to look at the source of the noise. Fortunately he took off.

Something is definitely going on out there, there are wolves everywhere.
