Legal Calf Moose

What age is the legal hunting age of a moose calf in Ontario under a year or older?

A calf that is born in the spring of the year is considered a calf until it's first birthday.

Once a cow or bull calf reach a year and a half of age (second hunting season) they will no longer resemble a calf.

It will have outgrown its calf features. One of the most identifiable features of a calf moose is its short face, this feature will be outgrown and the young moose will more closely resemble an adult moose.
